introduction

The American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) is the leading international trade association for the American hardwood industry, representing companies and trade associations engaged in the export of a full range of sustainable U.S. hardwood products.

Our work includes identities for events and bespoke installations at international design festivals, followed by design and production of all promotional materials including websites, microsites, booklets, leaflets, posters and exhibition display graphics.

client feedback

“We have been extremely impressed not just with their creative design product but their whole attitude and approach to client service. They always deliver on time and are very flexible - adjusting or taking on projects with very little notice sometimes. They take the time to find out what works for us and then deliver what I believe are great cost effective solutions. They are good fun to work with and also have a great eye for a good image.”

David Venables, European Director, American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC)

americanhardwood.org website

A responsive multi-lingual Drupal website, that is regionally relevant and consistent. It showcases the stunning AHEC projects with image galleries and embedded video, while promoting sustainable American hardwoods and providing clear information to the industry on all AHEC species.

We initially populated the website, then provided training for the client to continue the content management.

The United States Forest Data Map is an additional feature on the new website. This interactive online resource, with clear colour coded maps, adaptive scaling and graphic data representation, allows users to explore, compare and analyse data regarding US forest distribution, removal and growth. The data can be searched by all US Hardwood species and by both state and county.

The Life Cycle Assessment tool demonstrates the environmental impact of one cubic meter of kiln dried sawn lumber, by species, thickness and transport route.

International projects are showcased with stunning photography and multilingual content.

Further information on each project includes the design process, materials and the environmental profile.

The Invisible Store of Happiness

Promoting the sustainable qualities of American cherry and maple, an identity, website, installation graphics and interactive elements for the Invisible Store of Happiness (evolved to Along the Lines of Happiness) installation at the Clerkenwell Design Week.

Promoting the sustainable qualities of American cherry and maple, bwa created an identity to for the Invisible Store of Happiness installation for American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) at the Clerkenwell Design Week.

The flexible identity, designed to evolve over time, highlights the element of the ‘store’ and allows people to interact with it – and therefore demonstrate their reaction to the installation.

Too good to waste

Our bilingual gatefold leaflet promoted 'Too good to waste' at the Milan Design Week 2017. Reflecting the central message of the project; sustainability and using things that are overlooked, we selected a beautiful paper stock that is made using polluting algal blooms of the Venice Lagoon.
