With an avid Liverpool fan in our office, who also designed the recently launched Big Help Project identity, we were thrilled to discover it on the front of Wigan Athletic Football Club’s new kit. Especially as it was on the same day that Liverpool U21’s were playing their second pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic. Who was he going to support?

The answer of course was that either way he was a winner. So even though Liverpool U21’s were properly beaten 6-0 by Wigan, it was a truly memorable and proud moment to see that logo take centre stage on such a prominent platform. He will now be buying a new Wigan shirt.

Big Help Project is a multi-award winning National charity which proves on the ground wrap-around services to help people break the cycle of poverty, through Food Clubs, free financial and employment advice, affordable housing, wellbeing support and fundraising. Volunteers are essential to the success of Big Help Project and play a vital role in making a real difference to individuals and local communities.

Community connection, and support for each individual that forms part of each community, was our foundation for the visual identity development, which is now used across all online and print applications. The front of shirt branding ‘gift’ from EPIC GI provides Big Help Project with an amazing opportunity to increase awareness of the vital services that the charity provides and how you can get involved and help people to improve their circumstances in this incredibly difficult economic and social period.

“Football helps to forge a strong sense of community and that’s what we at Big Help Project are all about, creating strong bonds in communities to help them thrive.”

Peter Mitchell – CEO, Big Help Project

Social and environmental change are needed on so many levels in these challenging times that we live in. We work with clients to make a positive difference and look forward to hearing how this platform will support Big Help Project in their goal to eradicate poverty.

“Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.”

Nelson Mandela
